Home button works randomly

I have an iPhone4 that the home button works when it wants,I've hears that dust gets in the charging port and causes this and a tooth brush or vacuum will fix it.anyone else had this problem?

Can't I bought the phone outright from someone.

Installed activator,I'm using short press volume up for the home button now,but I'd like to fix it if it's a moderately easy fix.

Unfortunately its not gonna be an easy task if you don't really know what you're doing. You have to tear the whole phone apart just to get to the home button. Ifixit rates it as a difficult fix.

Get on Apple.com and check your warranty status. They all have a 1 year warranty for hardware, regardless of how YOU got a hold of it.

I had this happen to my first iPhone 4 and they replaced it outright since it was still under warranty.

Cool,called apple care,I have to take it to bham,2hrs away.hope they don't give me some bs because her back scree as a little crack in it,been there for 3 or 4 months.the home button just quit.

They shouldn't give you any trouble if you still have warranty on it. If anything you might get lucky and they will replace your back screen as well
