^^i used to have that aswell... u must have installed Record Display or something like that or another different add-on / tweak in cydia which uses "Activator" <<.
I removed Activator from cydia then that icon didn't show.. but then other add-on apps didn't work as well etc...
3 OPTIONS..
- remove activator from cydia to test and see if it still shows...
- remove that last tweak / add-on downloaded.. (or last few downloaded or whichever download you might think it is)
- remove 1 by 1.. if 1 app didn't remove that icon then re-install it and remove the next app and so on.. just for testing purposes..
----------------
I think you can have the CHOICE whether to DISPLAY that STATUS ICON or not inside the control panel off that app inside SETTINGS... (i remember seeing an option about that aswell... reason why i removed it was because the app didn't work for me the way it was described :s )
Let me know what you do anyway

Looks like the symbol that the app "backgrounder" uses to show it's using the native multitasking.

Is there really a good reason to use backgrounder with iOS4?
