No he doesn't just jailbreak. Should he SHSH his blob first then use jailbreak or not necessary?

I would save the SHSH incase you want to downgrade but if you don't then I don't see any reason to. I would do it anyway since it doesn't have any affect on your iPhone, it doesn't slow it down and it only takes like 1 minute.
