Can you disable the home button?

Hi dudes

I have a huge problem with my Ipod Touch 3G.
It detects that I press the home button, even when I don't have the ipod in my hands.
(Hardware problem, not a software problem)

It's really annoying because the apps keep closing, multitaskbar pops up like hell, ...

Is their an app/tweak/mod that can disable the home button and move the function to vol up + down?

I tried activator but it doesn't allow me to completly remove it.

Do you guys have any solutions, would make my day?

Actually I did.

When it was in warranty: Apple said that their wasn't anything wrong with my device (so they sended it back, including the malfunction).

After warranty: I've tried in an Apple store, but Apple won't allow me to get it repaired. They told me that I didn't have the required papers of proof of purchase.


To conclude: I have to fix it myself

Not sure about your area, but here where I live there are many cell phone repair shops.
Also you can go to "You Tube" there are a ton of vids on how to do the repair yourself.

In my area, we don't have such shops.
Could you give me a link to a video? I never found something similar
