Unable to upgrade firmware - could unlockit cause this?

I got an iPhone 4 (AT&T) a few months back. I put my work SIM into the phone and needed to use unlockit.co.nz to change the APN settings.

I haven't done anything else with the iphone and wanted to upgrade the firmware (currently on 4.3 - 8F190).

When I tried to upgrade the firmware I got a 1394 error and it did not work. Could the APN changes have caused this? I haven't done any other modding to this phone... yet.

Error was 3194, not 1394.

Looks like it was because of changing the hosts file to point to the cydia servers. With unaltered hosts file, it gets past the error.
