white screen issue, tried all usual steps, what next?

I have a 3G iphone with white screen issue. I tried all typical steps and able to restore the software and Itunes can “see” the phone but I can only see the white screen. I also disconnect and reconnect firmly the display unit but still have a white screen. What is the next thing should I look at? I am thinking the LCD need to be replaced but I want to get some opinions before I spend some more money for a new LCD. Thanks,

White screen on a 3g can be caused by a not properly connected LCD connector - it's tricky to get it clipped down properly and close the lid down without popping it back out - but if you are sure you are keeping the connector in place then it definately needs a new lcd.
