Cydia purchases and privacy concerns?

Hi all,

I was wondering about the authentication process with Cydia, why does it ask for either my Google friends and updates or access to my Facebook info? Is there a way around this? With privacy concerns *cough SONY cough*, is this necessary to give this information to Cydia?

its just general connection for confirmation.
it only takes in you name and account reference number so that it can have connection to your devices.
