Help! iPhone Crashed - Not a "regular" crash

Hello everyone,

First, I am very new to jailbreaking and what it's all about. And I also quickly skimmed over the forums for an answer but to no help.
I am using an iPhone 4 - 4.2.1, jailbroken on greenpois0n.

My phone has crashed quite a few times but nothing bad really ever happened; Once it was stuck in a safe mode loop but that was quickly fixed.

What happened

- Installing an App from Cydia

- Whilst loading the app both red and yellow text came up at the very end saying it couldn't overwrite a file

- It crashed

- It booted

- Now it's as if my device was just jailbroken. The Cydia apps work but the ones that are adjustable in the winterboard do not work. Also the winterboard stays in it's app icon format on my springboard and can't get it back in regular OS settings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Then delete some mobile substrate as the is causing your iPhone to crash

What app was it that you were trying to install?

You will want to update to the 4.3 os as well I would imagine but for the app I would not install that app for sure

Hey guys, thanks for the response and excuse the delay. I ended up jotting down what Cydia and Apply store apps I installed and then restored to factory defaults. I am now updated to 4.3.3 and jailbroken again with the Redsn0w update. Everything is much smoother and it hasn't crashed since.

As for the app I downloaded, I really don't know what it was called (how unprofessional haha) I just thought I needed it for some reason.
