3.1.3 jailbreak - problem

(Iphone 3g, 3.1.2, Tmobile, Baseband 5.14.02 )

Iphone started acting up.... wouldn't determine my location on MAP... the Clock alrams were not ringing on time... other weird things started happening...

So I decided to jailbreak to 3.1.3... Yes I know the world has moved on... we have 4.x.x now... I'm happy with 3.1.3... many apps i use work with this FM.... and I can customize it to my likes....

Anyway.... I must have downloaded 3.1.3 from 4-5 diff sites ...
----- PROBLEMS -----

1. Ziphone 3.0 can not detect my iphone... so that didnt work
2. Redsnow 0.7.2 ... every IPSW file was invalid... and could not be used.
3. Winpwn 2.5 beta... didnt have 3.1.x option... its still stuck with the 2.x.x
4. Snowbreeze 2.0.2.... made me a custom IPSW.. but then itunes wouldnt restore to that either.

Why do I even need these progs... u say... just get a custom FM and Shift restore in Itunes.... yep... tried that... 1/2 way through ... I get an error... CANNOT BE RESTORED.... OK... I tried installing Itunes 8.0.... which wont even install cuz Itunes 10.. did something to the system... I dont even understand..... so installed Itunes 10 again... and I'm stuck....

I dono wot to do... I tried many popular progs out there for jailbreak.. no luck

I restored to the latest FM with Itunes 10... and got to where it said.. the SIM is not valid... so... I tried to Jailbreak it ... so far unsuccessful ....

My iphone screen is stuck at "Connect to itunes"...

Wot to do ?

Redsn0w 0.9.4 use 3.1.2 ipsw (your phone can be on 3.1.3 just use 3.1.2 for redsn0w)

Try that instead to jb.

Redsnow doesnt even recognize any of the FM I have downloaded

it just wudnt recognize them as valid IPSW

You said in your post you used 0.7.2. Did you go get version 0.9.4?

I tried Redsnow 0.9.4

it finally recognized .... iPhone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw

"downloading jailbreak data..." thas what iphone screen is saying right now

Can u tell me the difference btwn 3.1.2 and 3.1.3... are there any major changes ...

Am i missing out on something if i stick to 3.1.2 ??

Ok but none of the above did you say you tried redsn0w 0.9.4 with the 3.1.2 Ipsw.

Try 0.9.4 because thats the actual specific version you need.

I just tried with redsnow 0.9.4
and it recognize 3.1.2 FM
it got to the part "download jailbreak data"

And then it reboots and i get the "Connect to Itunes" screen again... and thas about it... back to square one ;(

Did you restore your phone to clean it off of any previous jb attempts first?

I restore with itunes 10

and before it completely restores the itunes crashes

and iphone reboot to "connect to itunes" screen ;(

It would be beneficial if you could get a successful restore to 3.1.3 before attempting to jailbreak. Try another computer?

If he doesn't want to update that's fine. It's an iPhone 3G, it runs best on 3.1.x anyhow.

I was unable to get hold of another laptop....

So I un-installed itunes 10....
and installed Itunes 9.0.......

Then tried to SHIFT RESTORE to ............iPhone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw
Cannot be restored error 1015 ;(

goes back to the "Connect to itunes" screen

And what happens after you get 1015 and you use TinyUmbrella's exit recovery option (not the fix recovery, exit recovery)?

On the itunes it says.... cannot be restored 1015...
The it says I should restore it....

on the iphone it says... "Connect to Itunes"

Right...after you get that error 1015. Open TinyUmbrella and click "exit recovery mode"

OP said you were on Tmobile so don't you have to activate the phone with an AT&T sim now? And then unlock it.
