Default Is it safe to delete the /private/var/mobile/Applications folder?

My iTunes says I have 10.5 gigs of 'other' data, so I'm trying to find out what is causing all of this wasted space. I deleted all my applications, so I went snooping around via SSH. I had it calculate that folder, and it said '9,351 MiB', so I think I found my target. Does this delete anything other than application data? I think I have lost my game data and app data too much to even care about it anymore, lol

    Anyone?

If you deleted all your apps already I think its safer to restore that iPhone than to delete the applications folder. You have nothing to lose now.

Restore seems to be the best method. As far as your contacts, that's no problem, just sync when your done and they will all be there.
There are a few ways to save texts if that's a real issue, Google and You Tube are your friends, I'm sure you'll find the answers there if not on this forum by doing a simple search.
    Good luck.

If you mean restore and then copy the backup, I did do that, I just updated to 4.3.3 and jailbroke it. To do that, I had to restore my phone to 4.3.3

What? That was my position before I posted the topic, it's been at 4.3.3, and now I have all this random other data that I don't know where it is coming from. Could it be because I used AptBackup?

Don't delete anything from there. The best thing to do is manually back up al the important folders with your files (contacts, mail, etc.) and then wipe it. Restore it and manually add those files back.
