Smooth swiping that was in iOS3 but not in iOS4
Does anybody else notice the smooth swiping that was present in iOS 3 is now missing in iOS4?? I just took out my old 3G and I notice that the way you swipe between the home screen pages is very different than it is on iOS 4. It is very smooth. I can't explain it but when you like swipe your finger left or right, depending on the speed at which you do it, the home screen moves either slowly or fast. In the new iOS 4, if you swipe your finger slowly, the screen switches to the next one at the SAME speed, which is fast. I really dont like that at all and very much miss the iOS 3 smooth swiping. I hope somebody here can come up with a mod. I would love to experience that on my iPhone 4!

My iPhone 4 doesn't do that. If I'm understanding what you're describing correctly.
Edit: if I'm understanding incorrectly then I'm sorry lol. Doesn't bother me tho bc I never noticed as ive had a 3G before I got my 4 as well.Last edited by i.Annie; 05-05-2011 at 09:41 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Hence why I said if I misunderstood, sorry

But I don't notice the swiping thing, I've had an iPhone 3G too. It's not something I pay attention to, however, I'm not denying your observation.
I haven't heard of this before so I don't believe there is anything to adjust the issue for you.
But perhaps someone else will have some underground method or something

Sweet. Try swiping to your left slowly and take your thumb off immediately(this is important, do not leave your thumb on the lcd while swiping. You must remove it, like flicking something off a table.) You will notice the page move slowly and then slowly comes to halt. Then take your 4.2.1 phone and swipe it slowly and see if you get the same effect.

Actually, Apple implemented this type of swiping on purpose. The new swiping is present on ALL DEVICES ON iOS 4. Apple did this because the OS on the iPhone was not really "refined". If you open an app on iOS 3, you should see it opening slower than iOS 4 because iOS 3 was not refined or polished. The opening or closing is smoother on stock iOS 4 than iOS 3. I personally prefer the iOS 3 swiping, but that would make apps like Barrel less popular. Although Barrel is fully capable of working on iOS 3, it is laggy because of the variating speeds of swiping and is only available in Cydia for iOS 4 devices. Animations in iOS 4 are overall better than iOS 3.
