If you look at the front of the Sim card, it has a set of numbers on it. Not sure how it breaks down. Mine has (Not smart to post that number)

Thats your sim card number not a version. That number is like your imei but for your sim to give you service

I remember a while back AT&T wanted everyone with the iPhone to come in and get newer sim card. There was something on the sim that made it so that the AT&T rep could tell if it was newer or not. It was suppose to help your reception.

They have came out with newer and better sims like it use to be a fireball with 3g on it. Now they are half orange/white and those are the newest ones
