Terrible pictures?
Hi, can someone tell me if all iphones take grainy photos? The attachment is the best I can get. Is this normal?

You are definitely gonna notice the grainy-ness indoors and in low light conditions, but outside or with good lighting it takes great pics.
No it won't replace your high-end camera but it certainly comes very close.

Do you have HDR (High Dynamic Range) turned on or off? Low light has a lot to do with it but also tap to focus, if you tap and get a good sharp picture looking on the screen and snap it they tend to come out better.

So if I tap the screen while displaying the image I want a picture of its suppose to focus it? I've tried HDR on and off and its always weak.

Not trying to insinuate you're dumb or anything but did you clean your lens? I had crap photos once and found out I stupidly had grease on my lens.
If not, my iPhone 4 takes gorgeous pictures. But like everyone else said, in lower light it can get grainy. I'm guessing you are using the back camera. Does it look that way in like sunlight/outdoors?

Ya, for pictures it should auto-focus but sometimes it doesn't focus so you will have to do this manually by tapping on the object your shooting.
Unfortunately for video it doesn't auto-focus so you will constantly have to click focus while recording :/
HDR is just super bad-azz, by default it will take a pic and a HDR enhanced pic, see the differences, HDR makes your pics lighter and much more vibrant(try it on distant backgrounds too). If anything you should always have HDR on when taking pics
I find the best camera app to be ProCamera(check it out), it is so much more feature-rich than the default camera(i.e. Studio,Auto-focus on pics AND VIDEO!, Real-time exposure etc.), the only reason why I was a bit hesitant was the missing HDR factor.
But yea, aside from those tips the bottom line, lighting is everything!!

Thanks for the tips. I just cleaned my lens, doesn't seem to do much.
