    Question Sync issue

Ok, this is probably in the wrong section, but I didn't know where else to ask so here goes: A friend of mine broke her iPhone 4 screen a week ago, so she decided to buy another one(I would have told her to have me replace the screen, had I known). She bought the new one and went on trip to Tennessee for some huge concert thing and took a ton of pictures and videos, apparently. She just got back today and wanted to sync it to the computer and when the sync was done-no pictures or videos were on the phone, at all. As you may imagine, she's pretty distraught. Can these be recovered, or are they gone...?

She 'prolly' lost everything UNLESS she did a backup first! The computer she used most likely didn't recognize being affiliated w/ her new phone and wiped it clean to start over. What type if computer did she use: Windows or Mac?

I kind of figured as much. I just messaged her and asked if she was PC or Mac and informed her that it didn't look good. I was hoping there was a program to recover the files from the phone's memory since they're probably still there, just waiting to be written over...

Well..that's the problem...they won't be in the phone memory anymore. It would have to have been saved onto the computer during a backup. The Backup file won't show her the images directly. A separate program has to be used to read that file. Let us know, k

Dumb question perhaps but do they show up in the photos app on her phone? If not and she synced and didn't check the box to sync the pics, prolly gone, sorry.
