I'm not saying to go add sources that are unknown but when someone says iOS is safer when it really isn't. Root access is root access be it android or iOS, it's the same whether you wanna believe it or not. I can do just as much damage with root on iOS as I can with android. They are both *nix based and essentially the same.

But what happens when you look at it when not jailbroken. You cannot have root access correct? Which would be unsafe then? Also just so it is clear I am definately not a fanboy. The phone I'm using is a Samsung galaxy s running Android 2.3.3 HTC sense 2.1

If your comparing non-root to non-root then idk. I do know that the pwn2own safari exploit found on a non jailbroken iPhone can be used to gain root via an "overflow" dumping you into a root shell so the payload would be root access. Like I said tho I really don't have much experience with android but I work with Linux and unix daily, (for work) and *nix is *nix be it running on x86, arm *, ppc or whatever. Just because it runs on a phone doesn't make it any different, only changes the architecture of the "instructions" used to control the hardware.

Yup exactly you got it but I was trying to explain for now Android even unrooted is more prone to viruses.
