Default iPhone not recognising power connected

    Hi all

First time post here, I hope you can help! I've searched the forum but cannot find this anywhere else.

For some weeks now my phone has not recognised power being plugged in. It charges fine, but I do not get the confirmation tone, the lightening bolt in the battery for charging or the plug symbol when it is finished. I have read posts elsewhere that say that some connector needs to be replaced in such situations, but I don't think that's the case here, I'll explain why in a second. One last thing, I use an app called battery doctor pro which does come up with the lightening bolt and plug.

To try to resolve it I thought I would do a restore. I was previously on 4.1 JB with Limerain and this then put me up to 4.3.2. As soon as it was finished, the lightening bolt appeared so I thought all was resolved, but then once I had restored my backup and rebooted the phone it disappeared again. So I restored again, but this time ran the Redsnow JB immediately afterwards and again it worked fine, until I restored my backup to it.

So it appears to be something in my backed up data that is causing the problem, and presumably something which is unrelated to the JB or any JB apps because it has worked both with and without JBing before my data is restored. Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this?? I know that it is a fairly insignificant problem, but it is just annoying me!!

    Many thanks
    FLB

It's probably the backup containing a corrupted file from the jailbreak. I would just set up as new iPhone

    Hi

Thanks for the advice. I tried restoring defaults in Activator but it has not worked. If I restore as a new phone is there any way to get all my contacts back without having to type them all in again?

Is there any way to isolate what may be the corrupt file in my backup? To my knowledge I hadn't changed anything or installed a new app when this happened...

    Thanks again

^In addition to it's other features, PkgBackup will backup (and restore) the data from contacts, calendar, sms, photos,(from 8 stock Apple apps) to DropBox. A great way to have an on-line backup.
