Iphone 3GS randomly dropping signal requiring restart
I've been having problems with my iphone 3gs for a few weeks, it drops signal to no bars randomly and won't regain signal until I turn on airplane mode then turn it off again or reboot the phone and even then it gets signal for a short time and requires a restart again.
I've tryed restoring the phone and its the same without being jailbroken.
I've tryed installing a new dock with mic, speaker, antenna etc and I've tryed using a new sim card and the problem still happens.
Any help?

I have had the exact same problem with my iphone 4, i restored it and the problem persisted, but last night i was with my girlfriend and her phone was doing the exact same thing, she has never jailbroken
Today i have had very good 3g signal so im just guessing it may be a problem with the carrier, me and the girlfriend are both on O2.
Its your provider dude.
Im with telus and it does the same thing u describe all day at work ( in a shop ) the roof destroys my signal, and 3G coverage is very Limited in my town. Lol
I don't think it's a problem with the provider I've had an iphone 2g and a couple of 3gs's on the same provider for years and never had a problem, it's only the last couple of months this started happening.
I've never had a problem with the provider before, ive always had good signal on o2 uk. This problem happens anytime and anywhere it can have full signal then drop to none and wont regain unless i toggle airplane mode on/off then it regains signal
