iPhone - Black Screen (most of the time) don't know firmware/baseband - Multiple Errors

Greetings,

So I've got quite a problem with this little iPhone 3G

To start, I can ONLY see graphics on the screen when I am "restoring" does not matter what firmware I restore with, it's the only time I can see any graphics. Well, once or twice I saw the symbol to connect to the iTunes, but that didn't last long.

This makes it difficult to enter into DFU mode, but I am pretty sure I have managed few times.

I tried finding out what the baseband / firmware were by using f0recast, but no such luck.

I have tried downloading the 3.1.3 firmware and restoring, no luck, I freeze with an error...

If I try to do a stock restore I get error 6, 9, ect... I've seen so many different iTunes errors it's not even funny.

I have also tried using blackra1n, but no such luck with this either.

Does anyone have any advice or things I should also try? I would really appreciate someone's help in solving this mystery!

FIXED IT:

Here was my trail and errors (iTunes errors):

2.0.1 - 1600

2.0.2 - 1600

2.0.5 - 1600

3.1.2 - put's it into recovery mode - Blackra1n sucessful jailbreak...

4.2.1 - 37

I now have this phone on 3.1.2 / 06.15.00, what should I do to "upgrade" / jailbreak / unlock this phone now with the current situation having happen, without further damaging this phone.

Custom firmware is required. You must set into pqned dfu mode first with redsn0w before restoring to custom fw.

You may create one with sn0wbreeze 2.2 but I've said this before to others, sn0wbreeze doesn't like the iPhone 3G. Some people get it to work, some can't or it's really buggy to the least.

I'd suggest finding a custom 4.2.1 firmware made by pwnagetool online if you can't make one yourself with a Mac.

Just be sure the custom fw doesn't have the iPad bb packaged in it. Usually the provider will tell you if it does or not.

Just redSn0w to JB - you've already upgraded the BB so no need to use pwnage. UltraSn0w will unlock but you have no GPS.

I tried to use redsn0w to JB, but when I did and tried to select the 3.1.2 firmware i used to restore the iPhone from the beginning it said: Unable to recognize specified IPSW.

So I then:

Entered into pwned DFU mode using the 4.2.1 firmware I downloaded (as 3.2.1 wouldn't work with redsn0w) and then from there attempted to run the jailbreak. When I tried this, redsn0w crashed and my iPhone is frozen on "Downloading Jailbreak Data..."

So, I totally forgot about JailbreakMe <3 so simple.
