BBM should have been released today ? Or just a rumour?

What happend to all the rumour and that RIM accepted that it would release a BBM for iphone and Android ?
Are all just lies and rumours ?

I did not even see anything from RIM about a BBM on the iPhone and Droids.....
Only thing I ever saw about a BBM on iPhone was somebody on a forum stating they needed beta testers....but then future posters saying they sent him info to be tester and never got anything to install to test....

BBm is just a secure messaging system that runs off bb servers nothing to special about it
