Itunes Freezing

I have spent most of the last day trying to resolve this problem through google searches.

When i connect my phone to my laptop (Windows 7 64 bit), Itunes will open up then freeze. Once I unplug the phone I am able to close it, but not until then.

Oddly enough, if I put it in DFU mode then Itunes will regocognize it.

uninstalled everything Apple on the computer and reinstalled

restored the phone and was able to re-jailbreak with snowbreeze, then connected the phone to a different Win 7 64 bit machine to get the phone to work

left it plugged in overnight thinking it would eventually see it (no)

restored my windows firewall to factory settings, and told it to notify me if anything tried to connect (so I could allow the phone)

nothing...

any ideas?

I guess I should say when it is in DFU mode it will recognize a phone in recovery, and will restore it but it will not backup (or more importantly put my stuff back on my phone)

I have also deauthorized and reauthorized the computer
