Guide: How to create a Google Map of all of your captured locations
This guide will show you how to make a custom Google Map using Google Fusion Tables to plot all of the locations Apple has so nicely stored for you on your iPhone/computer. For more info, read up on the whole fiasco HERE
Thanks to Adam3882 who first mentioned this HERE
1. Jailbreak your iPhone.
2. Download iPhone Explorer or a similar program.
Macroplant - Downloads
3. Use iPhone Explorer to browse your phone to the following location and drag the file named "consolidated.db" to your computer somewhere.
Root Directory/private/var/root/Library/Caches/locationd
4. Download and install the Firefox Add-on SQLite.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...qlite-manager/
5. Open SQLite Manager in Firefox by clicking on Firefox menu icon and selecting Web Developer--> SQLite Manager
6. SQLite will open in a new window by default. Click on Database and then Connect Database. Change the file type to All Files and locate your consolidated.db file that you saved from iPhone Explorer.
7. Once the database is open, click on CellLocation or WifiLocation (cell location will give your cell tower triangulation, wifi will give your wifi info, duh) on the left. It should bring up information on your CellLocation including how many locations your iPhone has stored (No. of Records).
8. Click the Export button and leave the default settings for a CSV file. Click OK and save the CSV file to your computer.
9. Go to Google Fusion Tables. Click on New Table and then Import Table and click Choose File and browse to your CSV file you just exported from SQLite. Hit next once you select the file.
10. The Import New Table screen should pop up. Change "Column Names are in Row:" to None. Go to the 6th column and double click on "empty" and name this column "Latitude". Do the same for the 7th column but name it "Longitude". Click Next and then Finish. You can change your file info if you'd like.
11. It will now load your table. Keep an eye on the XX% Imported and wait for it to fully load, it may take a few minutes depending on how many locations you have. Once it is loaded, go to Edit-->Modify Columns. Select the Latitude column and change the Type to "Location". Check the box for Two Column Location and make sure your Latitude and Longitude columns are correct. DO NOT set the Longitude column type to "Location". Click Save.
12. Then click on Visualize-->Map and there you go. Be prepared to wait if you have a lot of locations, mine took around 30 minutes and I had 19,000.
Post up questions, comments, etc here. Hope this helps. If people are getting confused maybe I'll take some screenshots.Last edited by tommy0486; 04-20-2011 at 08:57 PM.

^yeah I have 106K wifi records, im not even going there...lol
Also you can search your C: drive for this backup file: "4096c9ec676f2847dc283405900e284a7c815836", (I could give the exact file location but could be different on other computers and search is easier.) its the same file as the "consolidated.db" on your phone. Just another option. This seemingly random string of numbers and letters is/should be the same for everyone's backup. You may come up with several search results if there is more than one iphone backed up on your computer. Continue to open this with SQLite.Last edited by Adam3882; 04-20-2011 at 09:03 PM. Thanks for the easy to follow guide, pretty interesting seeing where my iPhone has been whilst I have owned it, and where previous owner had been which i wasn't expecting since I had set my phone to start as new or whatever with updated ios and jailbreak.

Can we delete this file on our iPhones with harm? I have never synced my iPhone with my new HD on my laptop- so there has never been a backup made- hence no such file on the computer. I am concerned with a years worth of geo-location data on my iPhone though. Nothing to hide but against this on principal! Thanks!

Look on cydia, There are a couple of tweaks now that stop it from storing the data there and i think deletes it automatically.

ok so theres a ton of info on there that isnt mine lol
even after i restored this phone, the previous data is still in this file. it shows them traveling to florida, colorado, oklahoma, kansas, and even africa. theres tons of locations within each city they were in, how often are these made?

Followed this to a "T" but I can't understand what the little red dots stand for,my phone came second hand from another part of the country,so I expected lots of dots spread about that weren't me, now looking at my google map it show lots of dots around where I live, obviously not the previous owner, but obviously not me either, my own house doesn't show up at all,and I know where the mast are around my area, there are all dots around my area where the previous owner can't have been and nor have I ,so have we really anything to worry about, the tables can't be accurate, my phone has pretty much been in my pocket since I got it and I know where I have and haven't been

I agree, I don't really see what the fuss is about, all anyone can gleam from my data is that I live near Miami, the nearest dot to my house is almost a block away.

Nice break down! I'll have to do a little bit more studying of some of the steps, but this makes it super simple now. Thanks man!
