change itunes account on iphone

my daughter has been given a used iphone 3g and I am having a hell of a time trying to change the itunes account on it. I have plugged it into itunes while her own account is logged in, downloaded apps and sync'd, but still comes up on phone as previous owners account. Can anyone sugges a remedy please?

2 ways:
go to settings app-appstore and logout there

OR

go into appstore on device, and at very bottom it'll have the accout that's curetly logged in. click it and sign out.

Or

Go to settings on the phone and go into Store and it will tell what account it is using and you can sign out then sign in with the right one.

Thanks will try these. would it make any difference of theres still some apps on from the previous owner, (her older sister)?

not at all, but if she wants to update those apps left from her sis, shell need to reenter her email+pass.
