Stuck on loading circle at bootlogo
I just did an update on cydia and it updated 4 things...A repo, AndroidLock XT, DisplayOut, and Neurotech HD. After respring its now stuck on the bootlogo loading circle. It will spin for a minute or two then freeze and after another minute or so it will spin again but never make it past that point.
Is there any way around this? Or at least some way to backup before doing a restore if all else fails?

try a hard reset (hold both the home button and lock button until the apple logo appears), if that doesn't help you can use iphone backup extractor to take out the pic, sms, calendar, call history, etc. from you last backup.
In the end we're all just chalk lines on the concrete, drawn only to be washed away. For the time that I've been given, I am what I am.

Yeah, i did a hard reset a few times with no luck. Im just hoping my pkgbackup from this morning saved everything even though i got an error when it was done backing everything up.
Another question though...is there any way to restore through iTunes without updating to the newest firmware?

you will have to have shsh's saved to restore to anything but 4.3.2, if you don't have them (use tinyumbrella to find out) then no there is nothing you can do without updating the newest firmware.

usually 3194 is because you are trying to restore to a firmware that apple is no longer signing, did you ever hit the "make my life easier" button in cydia, if so then you will have some shsh's, when you did that will determine what shsh's you have

I may have, but I checked in tinyumbrella and it couldn't find any SHSH's saved. Is there some other step that I'm missing?

no, no other steps, semaphore just released an update for tinyumbrella, get it and see if it will save your shshs's, hook your phone up, select it on the left side of the tinyumbrella window and hit save shsh's

Ok, so last night i ended up restoring and being forced to update to 4.3.2 to be able to use my phone.
Just now I got the updated tinyumbrella and saved my SHSH's. The curious thing is, in the saved SHSH window it shows up as "iPhone 4 4.2.1 (8C148)". I've never had a problem with any of my jailbreaks in the past, so ive never had to do anything like this...so what does that mean? would I be able to downgrade back to 4.2.1?

yes if it is showing you have 4.2.1 shsh's then you can downgrade to that

JOY! I guess since my phone wasn't actually booting up all the way it wasn't able to retrieve the SHSH's from the cydia server.
Ok, next question haha.
Im now attempting to downgrade to 4.2.1 but it keeps giving me a 1013 error, so I looked around online a bit and found a "fix" that called for deleting a couple lines in the "hosts" file, gs.apple.com or something or other. But that didnt work, it still gives me the 1013 error.
Any ideas? lolLast edited by Ashengrace; 04-18-2011 at 11:02 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
