went to at&t today and purchased a new pre-paid sim card, the salesman aked me what type of phone it was going to be installed and i told him a smart phone. he told me that he hopes its not an iphone because it will shut down the new sim card! is this possible? i have an jailbroken 3gs that worked with a go phone prepaid i purchased about 1 1/2 years ago.. now im afraid to put it in

the iphone 4 would have to be unlocked to take a different sim card. I'm sure all he meant is that it wont work with the iphone because you cant use prepaid plans.

It should be fine. I've never heard of any sort of shutting down whether with the phone or the SIM. they might try to force you into a plan or something if they see it.
