Just sync photos with itunes (pc or mac) and itunes will transfer them across. If you're running windows, whenever you connect the iphone to the pc, a new icon comes under my computer. Your pictures are all there if you can't be bothered to sync:P

Skip the sync. If you're running Windows (which it sounds like you are), then do what M3th0s said.

    Connect iPhone to PC
    Open My Computer
Open "iPhone" (Should be listed as Apple iPhone under Portable Devices)
Click on Internal Storage, then DCIM
    Back up all folders

Those folders all contain your photos and videos from your iPhone.

When an iPhone includes photos in the Camera Roll, which is where all photos captured by your iPhone are stored, your iPhone is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer. Photos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
Maybe what mentioned above is not enough for you, i personally share you with a article about How to transfer iPhone/iPod/iPad contents to computer.
It includes the transferring of music, photos, videos, SMS, Contact ect. between iPod/iPhone/iPad and computer(PC or Mac).
    Cheers.

+1. Easiest method by far, compared to SSH.
