Thumbs down Screwed up my master.passwd AND computer isn't recognizing my iPhone 4 :(

After about a day and a half of nonstop trying to fix this/googling I thought I’d finally take a break and see if anyone on here knows what’s going on.

I wanted to change my SSH password since I had forgotten it, went into GTxTedit and to edit the master.passwd.txt file to reset my SSH password and followed this: Gargan.org - OpenSource and more... guide to do so.
I saved, and got out of GTxTedit, immediately after realizing I may have screwed up I tried to go back into it, but it wouldn’t pop up. So then I just tried to respring, which got me to where I am now: an infinite apple logo bootup screen.

So I tried to then SSH into after stupidly figuring out my old password (it was all for nothing -_-) and even though SSH was left on before it stopped working all I get are continual connection timeouts from WinSCP.

And, as if it wasn’t already complicated enough, here is where things get even more dicey. I’ve also been having another problem getting my computer to recognize my iphone (it just shows up as Local Disk Q: ). Before it was just a spotty, every once and awhile drop in recognition, but for a while now it hasn’t been able to recognize the phone at all.

So, when I went to go into iTunes and restore, it isn’t even recognized, even though it’s in DFU/Recovery mode (tried both). Seems like a perfect storm for crappiness. I’m really kind of grasping at air now to figure out what the problem is, any suggestions would be appreciated. This is all on Windows 7 64-bit btw /w the latest version of iTunes.

    Other things I’ve tried:

    *Hard resetting multiple times

*Reinstalling iTunes multiple times (& in the order it says to do so on their support page)

*Trying to hook the phone up to my other computer /w iTunes (same non recognition problem – also win 7 64 bit, and it used to connect just fine on this one)

*Various other programs to get into the Phone – none detect it in DFU/Recovery or otherwise (Diskaid, iphonexplorer)

*Going into device manager, uninstalling all the usb drivers, restarting and letting them install again. Also, manually choosing + installing the drivers from USBAAPL64.sys

*Flashing my computer BIOS after hearing about it having iphone recognition problems to the newest version. (Have an x58 SLI3 motherboard)

So that’s about it, let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance for anyone who responds!

If you have access to your file system yet, try this, it works!
