Find My Phone is for iPhone 4, iPad and iPod Touch (4th Gen) only. Works great though!
Apple - MobileMe - Find your iPhone or iPad.
Until the next time… And if I help you out, give me a "Thanks!" Thanks!

I suppose what ^^^^ said above is correct, but that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Why wouldn't find my phone support iPhone 3GS? It has GPS and is compatible with newest iOS!

You are best off looking for alternatives. Sounds to me like find my phone isn't gonna cut it for you. Try searching the app store.
