Updating Cydia via PC

Hi.. I really need help on this.. My fren has a 3GS still running on ios4.0 .. The reason why he wont update is bcAuse he cant backup via itunes..leave that alone first..my concern is

His Cydia is still ver1.0..there are no updates available for his Cydia.. I think bcause hes running ios4.. Can i update it via PC,can smebody teach me how?

And if i cant due to incompatibilities, my fren had trouble with his MxTube "cannot connect to youtube" bug, the bug has been fixed but the update is not listed in his Cydia..

I found thr .deb online..how to update it?pleSe help thnk u vry much!!

It shouldnt make a difference if you are on 4.0. I have done 3.1.3 iPhones that got the update available to them. Try refreshing sources under changes to see if it becomes available.

Really? U mean u hve Cydia 1.1 on ios3.1.3?? Bcos i tried refrshing his just now but no essential upgrade pop-up box coming..will give it a try again later :S

Yup I do. I believe I even have a iPhone 2g on 2.0 that got the cydia update.
