Is there a way to watch a video stored on my USB stick on my iPhone?
I don't have a lot of memory left in my iPhone, so I want to be able to have a movie on my USB stick and watch it on my iPhone. Is that Possible? I found this: AirStash: wireless flash drive + pocket media server + SD adapter for iPhone, iPod touch & iPad but I don't want to spend $99!

That thing is pretty cool but it looks like that's the only way you'll be able to watch a movie if you out of memory. You can also try streaming movies on this app called mobile theatre, if never got streaming to work for me though.

well that usb requires a wifi connection as a middleman.
obviously you don't carry a wifi router with you...
i can only suggest you encode your videos with lower quality, then you can pack way more videos onto it. I put the entire Family Guy series on my 32GB 3GS.
try 320 x 240 and 700kbps bitrate or lower. 128 kb audio. looks horrible, but its not like you're watching on a 70" monitor
you can also try this App: VideoStream
i use it, its not bad at home with Wifi. i have not tried access over the internet yet tho. you also have to have your media PC on all the time obviously.Last edited by Madman604x; 04-01-2011 at 11:37 AM.

yeah, the streaming option won't work. I'm thinking in terms of 6 hour cross-country flights.

well you'd only need 4 movies at most. on super high quality its usually not more than 1.5GB anyways. what can you do without on your phone?
are you using it for files haring/storage? comic book reader?
i didn't ask, but which model phone do you have? 8GB?
when i encode at 480 X 320, the videos are about 600-700 MB only for a 90 minute movie.Last edited by Madman604x; 04-01-2011 at 01:40 PM.

Although not a jailbroken app but, give "Air Video" a try from the AppStore. There is a free version to try.
