will restore wipe out activation? should I care?
I am not new to the jailbreaking scene, I have done my iPod Touch twice (two different OSs)
However, I just got an iPhone 3GS from a friend (who moved on to Android).
This iPhone has iOS 4.0 (8A293), radio 05.13.04, Model MC135LL (old bootrom?) I have the orignal at&t sim card.
It was jailbroken with JailbreakMe, and according to the iH8sn0w.com f0recast tool, it is already unlocked (haven't confirmed it yet)
It works fine with iTUnes (so far).
Problem is Cydia and some of the apps on it are broke...and reinstalling etc won't fix it.
I want to wipe it and start over, but if I do,
will it no longer activate (do I care?)
will it still connect to iTunes?
The whole thing revolves around the activation part...it seems that is important...is it if I never use it with at&t?
...of course if there is some FAQ or other obvious answer to this, please point me in the right direction and I will do some more reading.
Thanks.
(in case you were wondering why...I tether my iPod to my Sprint phone over bluetooth, (iBluever now called something else), but the iPod is only 8GB, no phone, no compass/gps. I wanted the extra features of the 3GS...gotta have hobbies)

I am confused.... Who do you have a cell service plan with? If you will be using your iPhone on ATT with a SIM card made for iPhone then you shouldnt worry about activation but if not.... start worrying.
