Insomnia statusbar icon?

Just recently, my insomnia statusbar icon is no longer there. It's missing on all 3 of my iPhones, it's either a few different reasons. A) recent updates in Cydia B) maybe when installed "Springtomize" from Cydia C) I'm missing something! Lol, prolly "C" so let me know cuz I miss the little guy in my statusbar!

I have lost my insomnia status bar icon which I rely on to know its on.

Still not sure where this issue came from. I also installed Springtomize, and yesterday I uninstalled it. I believe since I have uninstalled sprintomize the icon has disappeared. I attempted to reinstall springtomize to see if a setting was left over but I couldn't make it come back?!?!

Nillam - did you uninstall springtomize before this issue happened?

Nillam can you confirm that you can still turn your battery percentage on and off via system settings?!

Im pretty sure it was working a couple of days ago, right before I uninstalled Sprintomize.

Don't know when the last time I updated Insomnia.

Same problem with no Insomnia Icon in status bar even though it was working a couple of days ago.

There was a Cydia update of Libstatusbar in the last couple of days too, not sure if that changed something so Insomnia Icon doesn't show.

Good point, there was a libstatisbar update, and that does coincide with the time it disappeared!

BK, have you ever used Springtomize? I want to rule out that it has anything to do with that!

Never used Springtomize. Doesn't look like it does things I want or need, but will look at it.

But hopefully there'll be an update to OpenNotifier soon to align its operation with libstatusbar.

The problem is with libstatusbar 0.9.2 and 0.9.2-1
Yes I tried both.

Then the Cure is by downgrading to 0.9.1 the icon comes back to the status bar

This is how I did it.

opened in 7zip down to the two files
libstatusbar.dylib
libstatusbar.plist

in iPhoneBrowser go to \Library\MobileSubstrate\DynamicLibraries\ made sure these two file names existed then pasted the 0.9.1 over the 0.9.2-1
rebooted for safety.
This saved uninstalling libstatusbar which takes out insomnia and its toggle, OpenNotifier and having to reinstall.

Let's hope libstatusbar gets fixed.

I know for a fact it was the Insomnia update because it is the only thing I changed yesterday because Cydia indicated I needed the update.
I realized the missing icon upon reboot. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling and respring and nothing brings it back.

My concern is not knowing if it is running and will run the battery down faster...so my work around it just to enable and unenable as needed. PITA.

Nice program, especially for free, but something needs tweaking.

The insomnia statusbar icon problem was rectified a couple days ago, if you update everything in Cydia it will reappear. At least it did for me, if urs is still missing after updates, check the app to see if the switch is "ON" to enable insomnia. After updates, my switch was off & I needed to re-enable the little guy.

Are you on an older model device (IP 2g/3g, IPT 1g/2g)? I am and it was the insomnia 4.0.1 update that hit me. In fixing the libstatusbar problem, the developer accidentally produced a version that only works on newer devices (different cpu). If you're still on IOS 3.1.3 like me (which doesn't need the libstatusbar update), falling back to the 4.0 version will fix it.

If you're on an older device on IOS 4.0 to 4.2.1, you need to wait for another update (4.0.2?). I sent the developer an email already.

My guess is that the recent Xcode update, because it is associated with IOS 4.3+, has a default to run only on the new devices, like the IOS itself.

This is just the latest case in such older-devices-not-working faults I've encountered recently, several on Apple App Store apps, which took multiple releases to fix. Developers need to re-sharpen their tools.

Insomnia statusbar icon works fine for me, I have 2 iPhone 3GS & 1 iPhone 4, all on iOS 4.2.1 & jb'd on GP. Not sure about older devices, is it older device problem or older iOS problem? I doubt there worried about older iOS, cuz I'd guess most people have updated to iOS 4.2.1 when it was out to use the latest Greenpois0n. We should have someone who knows, clarify if it is A) older devices, B) older iOS or C) both?

If you updated libstatusbar recently that's what caused the icon to disappear. But insomnia already released a update that fixes the missing icon so just go the latest version of it in Cydia.

I'm pretty sure the problem for most folks is that a recent libstatusbar update broke insomnia 4.0. The libstatusbar library is IOS 4+ only, so those people would have been the ones affected.

Insomnia 4.0.1 fixed the libstatusbar problem, but was built incorrectly so it only works on newer devices. If you've got a newer device, insomnia 4.0.1 works fine and is all you need.

If you've got an older device, but IOS 4+, you need to wait for an insomnia fix that works on all devices.

If you're on IOS 3, regardless of the device, insomnia 4.0 works fine.

"Older device" is iPhone 2G or 3G, or iPod Touch 1G or 2G. 3GS is a newer device (armv7, rather than armv6).
