Default 3gs stuck in apple logo

ok, so a friend brings me his friends iphone b/c i jb'd about half a dozen iphones...

He says that he thinks his friend tried to downgrade his iphone and got this apple screen, it thinks then pauses and just stays on here

    1. is there a way to find out what iOS is currently on here so to re-jb it? I tried f0recast but nothing shows up on it

    2. i tried iReb to kick it out, but not the problem i guess b/c nothing happens. Is there a way to get it out of this phase? I dont want to lose all his friends apps on here if possible

    3. is it possible to just downgrade/ upgrade to whatever iOS thru sn0wbreeze or redsn0w? I dont like greenpoison for some reason.

attached is a pic from my iphone, no i didnt steal this phone

k, so i finally went to play around with the almightly tiny umbrella in dfu--> fix recovery-->exit recovery--> then maybe save.....

greenp0ison.com stuff showed up on iphone, maybe thats when i hit save, not sure, anyways then it went thru a bunch of stuff on screen as if it was trying to Jb but then stops at:
    panic: we are hanging here...

SO, is my assumption correct that it was a failed JB, with greenp0ison?

it never did save or show what shsh back up files were on the iphone as it was in recovery

gave up and asked my friend to ask his friend what he was trying to do.. but figured this would be an exciting mystery game for everyone, that failed

Are you trying to do Jailbreak or you have a Phone Hang problem?
