Cannot restore iphone
Hello im new to these fourms and my friend gave me his iphone to JB i just did what i always did but for some reason when i turned on the iphone it was already in DFU mode so i attempted to restore it but when i restored i got an unknown error, i these are usually not a problem to fix but for some reason i cant find a fix for this one its Unknown Error (40) Its an 3g Iphone 16 GB if that helps any thanks in advance for any info

What is the firmware?
