Jailbroken iPhone 4 mobilephone.app crashing

I have a jailbroken iphone4 running 4.2.1. Every time I go to the phone app and hit a number on the keypad I get a long tone and then the phone app crashes. Respringing and rebooting don't help and I'm trying to avoid restoring and upgrading until the jailbreak for 4.3 is fully functional.
Anyone have a guess as to why this is happening?

Kk do you have ur shsh saved for 4.2.1? And if so back up ur phone and restore it to 4.2.1 and then jailbreak and sync to ur backup u just made should fix the problem. But it depends if you have ur shsh saved. Usually if you clcik " make my life easier" in cydia it should have saved it for you and you should be good. Let me kno

When I try to restore back to 4.2.1 I get an unknown error (3194) message from iTunes.

Do you have tinyumbrella downloaded on your computer?

I downloaded tinyumbrella and went through the steps to restore my iphone. Everything's working as it should again. Thanks for all the help.

is there anyway to do this without restoring? not want to installnmy cydia apps again.
my phone app works fine until i dial one number/contact and then freezes.

Download either AptBackup or PkgBackup and you can backup your cydia apps.
