Oh my god...how can it be so simple, yet I spent hours just doing repetitive things? Thank you so much, Youtube's people can't anwser my question so simple and clean like you did. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know exactly what you mean, I have spent hours trying to figure out how the heck to downgrade and the more I read or watch youtube, the more I get different things to do and nothing seems to work.

Hoping someone can give me really clear directions on my other post.

Does this work for only users of TU? I saved my SHSH on Cydia only and wasn't able to restore either- so i had to comment out the cydia nameserver in the host file and go with iOS 4.3. I hate this phone now. Very depressing!

Ok i got it to work!

Here's what I did. I restored the 4.2.1 iOS via iTunes with the cydia name server in the host file enabled (so it does not go to the actual apple one). About 80% through the restore, i got the 1013 error and the phone restarted on its own and came up in iTunes in recovery. I tried the newest version of TinyUmbrella and used the fix recvoery option..this did NOT work. I then downloaded RecBoot..also did NOT work. I downloaded the 4.21.12 version of TinyUmbrella and did fix recovery...it WORKED! Back to 4.2.1 from 4.3

i've encounted the same probelm when i was upgrading my ATT ip4 4.1 to 4.3.3 and then I downgraded to 4.2.1 and now everything works. When i had 4.3.3 i had absolutely no signal and no carrier recognition. I've jb many times too hoping it will correct the carrier signal problem via sn0wbreeze 2.7.1 and redsn0w 16, but no luck. I either have no carrier signal or the single bar from ATT but the settings in carrier is "unavailable"

i recommend staying safe with 4.2.1

Error 1013 is a host issue. Easiest way to fix it using Apple signed firmware is to erase the last line of your hosts in your /etc file. That will allow you to restore to Apple signed (only 4.3 as of two days ago) firmware without 1013 popping up.

As far as TU goes, I never use it. Its been junk since iOS4.1 came out. If you have files saved, just set your hosts to cydia in /etc and it works fine.

I restore 25-30 phones a week from saved SHSH and deleted TU months ago it had me so frustrated.
