    Default Pleaaaase help ip4 stuck in recovery

    So.....call me stupid

    I had a jailbroken 4.2.1 and tried upgrading to 4.3 earlier. Phone ended up in recovery mode and have been unable to get out of it. I have ried tiny umbrella but still no go. Ive tried other pc and still get error 1013. Can somebody pleaaaase help me get my phone back?

    are you on windows? and if so which windows?

    Yes windows 7 but i have a mac as well if i need one.

    I try restoring. It goes through the steps, "restoring iphone software" , "verifying iphone restore", "restoring iphone firmware", then I get error 1013 and back to recovery mode.

    got to computer>windows>system32>drivers>etc>open hosts file with notepad then delete everything at the bottom with gs.apple save it restart computer and restore

    I tried it on another pc with no modified host file and it didnt work, any other ideas?

    download tinyumbrella, connect the iphone and there will be an option at the top to boot it out of recovery mode. i was in the same boat as you trying to update and this fix worked for me. never did end up getting it to 4.3 though (bad news anyways my guess is only a handful of cydia's apps will support 4.3)

    no problem dude haha i was freaked out when mine was stuck in recovery mode, thought it was gonna be fu**ed for a while,

    thanks i figured tiny umbrella wouldnt kick it out where there for a while it wouldnt kick out 4.2.1 so i learned something new to always nice to update your brain lol

    Yeah it was my last choice to get the phone working again lol.
    i wanted 4.3 just cuz it seemed like i was having bad battery drain issues with ios 4.1 and thought apple should have fixed that up by now.
    but 4.2.1 is working great for me =)
