Real Guide to Enable Multitouch Gestures on iPad, iPhone 4/3GS iOS 4.3 GM
iPad instructions…
Your iPad needs to be jailbroken (obviously), and you need to install iFile from Cydia.
Open iFile.
Open com.apple.springboard.plist in /var/mobile/Library/Preferences.
Add “SBUseSystemGestures” as a key.
Set it to “true”.
Do a respring.
4 and 5-finger multitasking gestures should automatically be enabled. To disable them, just set “SBUseSystemGestures” to “false”. Use the other entries in that .plist as an example.
iPhone 4/3GS instructions…
You’re going to need a jailbroken iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 running iOS 4.3. Here are the 4 files you’re going to need to edit:
N90AP.plist in /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/
General.plist in /Applications/Preferences.app/
Settings.plist in /Applications/Preferences.app/
com.apple.springboard.plist in /var/mobile/Library/Preferences
com.apple.springboard.plist
Add “SBUseSystemGestures” as a key.
Set it to “true”.
You can use the other entries in that .plist file as an example.
N90AP.plist
Add “multitasking-gestures” as a compatibility.
Set it to “true”.
You can use the other entries in that .plist file as an example.
General.plist
Download THIS modified General.plist (thanks to @k0mpresd).
Replace “General.plist” in /Applications/Preferences.app/ with the one you’ve just downloaded.
Settings.plist
Download THIS modified Settings.plist (thanks to @k0mpresd).
Replace “Settings.plist” in /Applications/Preferences.app/ with the one you’ve just downloaded.
Do a respring or a tethered-boot, and you should see “Multitasking_Gestures” at the top of the list in Settings. Turn it on (should be on already), and use the gestures. The side switch toggle is also in the General section. If you want to add an icon and/or change the label from “Multitasking_Gestures” to something else, just look at the other entries in Settings.plist so that you can figure out how to change them.

I tried this yesterday and was ending up restoring my phone because it was stuck at bootlogo:S
So i guess i did something wrong, but kind of scared to try again.
Can anyone confirm this is working on iPhone 3GS 4.3.1 jailbroken with redsnow?
and are there any particular steps that i could possibly done wrong if i follow these instructions?
(like respring between steps or something)
thx.
