iPhone 3gs 4.2.1 Sms Tones

Hi I am new here and I am wondering if it is possible to use custom sms/text message ringtones. I have a jailbroken iphone 3gs on 4.2.1. I have the app anyring installed but its only a trial and i would like to know if its possible to upload one or transfer a ringtone via bluetooth or something. Any help is welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I don't know about Bluetooth, but you can SSH into your iPhone and put them into "Library/Themes" folder and enable them in Winterboard.

how would I do this, I am new to all this jail breaking stuff, only way i knew how to jailbreak was because the greenpois0n app basically tells you what to do.

Go on this webiste: Macroplant - Downloads and download iPhoneExplorer and just go on "Library/Themes" and drag your file into it.

can it be a regular mp3 file? or does it have to be a specific file type?

I don't know really, go on Cydia and download a ringtone and use iPhoneExplorer and find the file in "Library/Themes" and check what type of file the ringtone is that you downloaded from Cydia.

Does this forum have like a shoutbox or something?? and i am looking on cydia now for a ringtone.

EDIT: i got it i don't have to install anything i just jailbreak it and convert a file to aiff in itunes, then rename it to .caf then send it over using iphone explorer. Thanks for the help iGoof.
