First problem I was having was the phone crashing to safe mode anytime I tapped install in the App Store. It was letting me install apps in safe mode just fine. It seems the crashing problem was fixed when I removed the cydia app 'Stay Opened'. I can deal with not having that one installed but unfortunately now every app I try to download get an error 'Unable to Download Application'. iTunes wont let me install anything new either.
Like everyone else, I really dont want to try to restore from scratch so does anyone have any ideas?
I saw plenty of threads about a similar problem with the app store crashing to the springboard when using 'categories', but nothing in there seemed to apply.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Other info:
Problems started a couple days after changing root password using MobileTerminal (NEW) and installing a few updates from Cydia (Update almost everyday so I dont remember which ones)
Installed packages: BootLogo, CyDelete, Dim Delay, FakeOperator, Five Icon Switcher, Five-Column SB, Folder Enhancer, IconRenamer, LockInfo, RecentDelete, ScreenDimmer, ScrollingBoard
I would like to know the answer to this too as I just changed my password through terminal and don't wanna run into this problem. Did you figure it out?
You won't first thing I do is change root password. I've never had this problem. There's two apps listed that I've never used either those are dim delay and screen dimmer. Might be one of those because I have everything you have installed plus way more. Have you logged in to iTunes and try to download apps from a computer? Maybe an error with your account or something.
If the App Store is hidden with SBSettings, or inside a Category, it cannot authenticate. Just leave it on the regular dashboard, respring and you will be fine !
The best thing to do is, since you took note of all the things you've downloaded, delete them one by one and test the App Store app download. Keep deleting until the problem goes away, then install back the other ones that were not the problem. Seems elementary/obvious but that is the first step to eliminating factors.
