Yes the current restore would upgrade the baseband.
The current firmware is 4.2.1 and the baseband I don't know but it is not unlockable as of right now.
If you can wait firmware 4.3 is about to be relased by apple and rumor is that Jailbreak and an unlock will be released.Last edited by area51crypto; 03-03-2011 at 09:10 PM.

4.2.1 has a bb of 3.10.1, 4.1 is 2.10.1, and 4.0.2 is 1.59.0. 1.59 bb is the newest that's unlockable at the moment. Just read up on the unlock people been having problems with it. I'm using 4.2.1 bb 1.59.0 with no problems but I'm on att.

Ok so phone was dead when I got it. The apple logo appears, then a skull and I haven't gotten past the little loading circle.
How long does this normally take?
My parents didn't pay for my iPhone.

How long have you had it on the charger?
The charger charges the iPhone faster that hooked to compter and itunes.

Just plug the iPhone in and it will charge whether it's on or off
