Verizon iPhone in toilet, hope not lost
So I dropped my new Verizon iphone in the toilet this last weekend. and it wouldn't turn back on (surprise, surprise). Anyways I promptly put in a bag of rice where it has been until now. Moisture on the inside of the camera disappeared so I decided to plug it into my computer and it made the connection sound it makes, and it was recognized in system profiler! but the screen didn't turn on. So there is hope but now its not being recognized by my mac. Any ideas where to take this recovery from here?

P.S. I know the prognosis seems dim, If you're going to tell me its hopeless... don't bother posting. Just the fact that the computer recognized it and launched iTunes is proof that it is not totally finished so I'm hoping to take this as far as I can.Last edited by tyfly867; 03-02-2011 at 11:44 AM.

^yup, sorry, she's a goner for sure. Warranty does not cover water damage. Sorry.

Yeah I was at a frat party so common judgment was...um...well not totally present for obvious reasons im sure.

i had a water problem with an iphone 3g last year and nothing ever got better. i thought the screen wouldnt turn on at first but it was actually just the backlight so it was very dim. i was able to get some stuff off there at least.
just a thought...

Where did you buy your iPhone? Cuz if you got it at best buy; just take it back there, if you also bought their insurance; you should be in good shape right?
