Restore from backup

Hi I am loooking for a bit of clarification on something I have not done before.

if I wanted to restore from back up in iTunes would this effect any of the jailbreak stuff ?

and would I have to have tiny running to do this.

I have a bit of a battery issue on my iPhone 4 running on 4.1 and would like to see if a restore from back up would clear it up as this would be easier than a full restore and jailbreak.

I don't think it effects any of the jailbreak stuff but just wanted clarification
