iPhone 4 refurb question... Is this reasonable?
I just received a refurb iPhone 4. I expected maybe a couple of flaws, but the top of the camera lens thing is all scratched up. Is this something that is reasonable to accept when purchasing a refurb? I guess I couldn't really tell in the couple of pictures I took if it's affecting the pictures... but I still assumed that any flaws wouldn't be on integral parts of the phone. Thanks!

I've always heard that they replace the housing, although I've only had one replacement but It was brand new as the one I turned in was a week old.
Refurb can mean a number of things, all the way from somebody walked in and came the next day and decided they didn't want it; from the battery died and they gave them a new one and replaced the battery and sold it as refurbished.
I would take it back cause I wouldn't want scratches on my phone especially if it's an i4.
Just my opinion ha hope this helps.

camera/screen scratches are unacceptable. someone dropped the ball.
60% of the time, it works every time.

Thanks... I thought it was kind of unacceptable, but they (customer service via email) said I should have expected blemishes and I could return it under the "buyer's remorse" clause. Not really sure how that would work, since I can't just pop my sim card in my 3g and carry on. Exchanging it didn't sound like an option.

That's not allowed to be called refurbished. That's called used. False advertisement. Like you said, unacceptable. I've had plenty of refurbed items and they always replace housing.
A refurbed item is basically used, but fixed up to look new and function like new. Only reason it is called refurbished is because it was pre-used and technically cannot be called "new" when sold, but it basically is like-new.

Well they told me they are all out of iPhone 4 refurbs, so I can return it and buy a new one and hope they get another refurb in while paying full price meanwhile, AND while hoping this all happens within the 30 day return period. Not happy. Second random question: I hear a soft buzzing on every call. Is this normal?
