Possible to sync/copy apps/contact from old HD to new
Well my old laptop died and same time my iphone was stuck in DFU mode. So I have the iphone working now and have the old HD conacted via usb. Is there anyway to transfer over the contacts and possibly the app?

Right navigate to \username\My Music\iTunes on both drives and copy the iTunes folder from old drive to the new one. If there isnt one in the new music folder just paste the old one or replace if there is one.

hmm should have done may need to take one of your backups from old HD in location C
Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
that mught be the only way to get contacts back and notes etc

This is one way although it think if you get the backup file and do a restore from backup then you should get all info back, done it before and worked like a dream.
