Changes in 4.2.1 that now prohibit playing iPod through car stereo?

Back when I was on my previous version (4.0.1 IIRC), I could hook up my iphone and play youtube music videos through my radio. My radio has a usb jack which supports iphone/ipod, etc.

Whenever I plugged in the iphone it'd always auto bring up my ipod playlist, and of which currently is empty because I just restored to 4.2.1; although, when I even try to play a youtube video all it shows on screen is 'this device is connected to a tv output device' or something similar. It never plays the video on the iphone, nor does the sound carry though to my radio.

Does anyone know what change was made that makes this happen? Is there any kind of fix? I'll never hook my iphone up to a tv for display like that, so is there any way i can disable this feature so it'll go back to working with my radio?

Does anyone not have this issue? Try playing a youtube video and dock it with your entertainment center or head unit or whatever.

What are you settings set on when you go on settings > iPod > scroll down to TV Out
