    Default Bit of help required

I imagine this is in the wrong section so apologies.

I have today received an iPhone I think it's 3GS with firmware 2.2.1 which I need to jailbreak and unlock.

Suggestion please I'm ok with anything 4.0 onwards but nothing this early.

Pwnage preserves baseband, but I'm not sure if you can update to 4.0 because apple is no longer signing that firmware. Unless you have shsh files saved with tinyumbrella.

Download PwnageTool (mac only) and create a custom IPSW that removes the baseband update (preserve the baseband). Use the custom IPSW to update to 4.2.1 and it will retain the old baseband. From there, unlock with ultrasn0w and lol at apple.
