Help!!! iPhone 3g DFU/Recovery loop

I been trying everything on forums and googling before posting.

I have an unlocked iPhone 3g running on 3.1.2. Everything was working fine but one day my phone would just not show a display. The screen remains blank, as if it was turned off, but it obviously works since it is detected (sometimes) by my computer and the screen turns white and gives me the apple logo when restoring.

The problem is that whenever I am about to finish restoring, iTunes gives me a error code #6 while verifying restore. I tried restoring with a 3.1.2 or to official 4.2

I try to do the power + home to kick it out DFU but I get no display or signs of life.

I am running out of ideas and afraid it is completely bricked.

BTW...I am running a Windows 7 64bit and a Windows Vista 32bit.

i used redsn0w and everything was going well until it got stuck at "installing activation bundles" and then iPhone shut off.
