Ok so recently I bought some iphones from my friend to try to fix them and resell em. One of them just has some cosmetic problems and the other had this weird wifi problem.
When I search for a network, I have to be very close to the router for the iphone to actually read it. When it does find it, it asks for the password, I type it in, and it just gives me an error "Unable to join the network".
Things i've tried, that miserably failed:
-I tried it in in 2 separate locations with different brand routers and it gives me the same problem, and my other 2 iphones find the wifi perfectly fine.
-I restored network settings and when that didn't work I reset ALL settings... nada
-I then opened the phone and changed the wifi antenna (cable 6 if i'm not mistaken) with the one from the working iphone in hopes of it being a simple hardware problem, but after the mission of reassembling the 2 iphones, it still didnt work... (the one with cosmetic problems still worked fine though)
-I then decided to restore it and jailbreak it to 4.2.1 to see if maybe with a clean restore it would do the trick, but nothing... I even had to ssh into the iphone to install ultrasn0w since i had no wifi, so i could actually use it as a phone at least.
When i got it, it did have original firmware and it seemed as if it was restored before because it had no apps or contacts. So doubt the JB is messing with it... I seem to have ran through all the logical things that could be wrong with it but iphones can be tricky to fix sometimes and google for once didn't give me an answer to fix my iphone problem ;( I was hoping one of you smart people could help me out with this please! and sorry if I made you read too much, but just wanted to explain everything i've tried in detail
Any suggestions are welcome though, thanks in advance!
bump?
