Changing biteSMS to default 'message' icon?

This is probably something really simple - but I'm struggling!

I downloaded biteSMS - which works great and I really like it. However... I'm not keen on the pink icon, and I like having my home screen as default. I've found a renaming program on Cydia thats let me rename the original 'messages' program to messages_orig, and biteSMS to messages.
Now I just need to put the original messages icon on the biteSMS program.

I've also read something about SBsettings having a feature of hiding programs I don't want. I downloaded SBsettings, but all I get is 'Activator' in Settings.

Sorry for the newb questions! I've returned to iPhone after a few years away, so I'm just trying to find my bearings again!!

Download "BiteSMS to SMS Icon" in Cydia. Activate under Winterboard. As far as hiding icons, swipe across your statusbar and you should have your SBSettings screen come up. Choose "more", then slide down to "Hide Icons". Hide the ones you want! 
