How to check IMEI/serial number without activating.

As above. I have a brand new, unactivated iphone 4 that I bought second hand and plan to sell on. I don't want to activate it but want to make sure that the IMEI and serial number match the box before selling.

Can I achieve this and, if so, how?

Im not sure, but I think you can use tinyumbrella to see that information even if you are not jailbroken.

Yep, just connect it and use tiny unbrella. It gives all the info on the phone.

simple way to get your imei number on any phone activated or not is to dial *#06# and press the send button.it displays the number on your screen
